Monday in the Netherlands was a holiday day. Dan & I couldn’t even find a candy shop open to buy half price Easter chocolate so imagine our surprise when the strains of a marching band came through our window. Grabbing our coats we ran out the door just in time to see the band march around the corner heading towards the center of town. Like mice following the Pied Piper, we gave chase.
What we discovered was the assembly of an Easter Monday religious procession. We are not Catholic so a lot of the meaning was lost on us, but you can check out my pictures of the event. There were a decent number of local spectators (and confused tourists) so it must be a yearly procession. If you have any particular insight, feel free to comment. Chow!
