Type of Place: Take-away Restaurant
Location: Koningin Emma Plein 11; 6214 AB Maastricht
Website

Located on the Koningin Emma Plein roundabout in the shadow of the St. Lambert church is one of my favorite take-away restaurants in Maastricht. Thai Take-Away is a unpretenious take-away restaurant with a few eat-in seats and a prominent counter. The open kitchen is visible in the back and always busy and steamy.
If you live near Koningin Emma Plein and the Rechtsbank (Judicial building), like I do, Thai Take-Away has several things going for it:
- Nearby. So nearby in fact that we eat take out from them at least 3 times a month; usually more. The guy at the counter knows us on sight by now.
- Good Prices. Enough Pad Thai for two people for 13 euros is nothing to shake a stick at.
- Great food. Its not the best thai food I’ve had in Maastricht, but it is very good and always ready quickly. I enjoy the Pad Thai, and am particularly partial to the Phad Woen Sen which comes with glass noodles and shrimp.
- Students. This isn’t always a plus (sorry guys), but in this case there is an international dormitory in the area. Thai Take-Away caters to them by having a bilingual (trilingual?) menu.
- Ben & Jerry’s.
Thai Take-Away is open 7 days a week from 4 to 10 PM. You can order at the counter or call ahead and pick-up your meal. You must bring cash since they don’t have a credit card or PIN machine.
